The rose and the acid
It was by wanting to find a new chemical formula in the universe of rock that Sulphurya, during an autumn storm in 2020, was born.
In the northeast of France, inside the eye of a cyclone, a singer and a composer experimented with pouring a few drops of sulfuric acid on a rose, with a hint of metal. The harmony and the sound of the resulting reaction were so complex that they remained elusive.
The first singles found their audience fast. Then the pandemic cut the momentum and the duo stopped. Sulphurya fell into a deep sleep. Out of that period came one instrumental, Rising From The Ashes.
In 2024, Marie Sigvart took over the vocals and the project started again.
